Dirk Vermeersch had a lot of dreams. He fulfilled all of them. When it was time to retire, one dream was left: buying a house in the south of France and start making wine.
This dream came true in 1999 when he bought a ruin with a plot full of old Carignan vines. With heart and soul he started pruning, plowing and before his family knew it, he was a fulltime winemaker. His first wine was awarded with 95 points and 2 stars.
His daughter went to the local school for oenology to learn how to make wine. This is where she met her husband.
Nowadays they are both working at Le Plan winery.
In 2010 the family decided to sell the ruin, that had become a beautiful palace, and build a super modern winery in the middle of their vineyards.
