Thierry Janots (born 1961, French) and Richard Bos (born 1967, Dutch) are two winemakers with a passion for producing wines from the Côte d'Or. They strive for high-quality wines that fully express the terroir. In the wines they produce, they avoid additives and unnecessary interventions. In 2005, they started their own winery, where they produce their own wines. However, they have known each other much longer. They met in 1996 while studying at the Lycée Viticole in Beaune.

Thierry has gained extensive experience at several renowned wineries, including Joseph Drouhin, Louis Latour, and Domaine des Comtes Lafon. Richard has worked in the hospitality industry in the Netherlands, including as co-owner of Café Samson in Nijmegen. After his studies in Beaune, his passion for wine eventually led him back to Burgundy. In 2005, the two men took the plunge and founded their own winery, JanotsBos.

They make their wines themselves because it is the only way they can ensure the quality they aim to deliver. Thierry mainly focuses on the technical side of the business, winemaking. Richard, in addition to winemaking, takes care of the commercial aspects.
