Weinkeller Peter Mertes

Winery Peter Mertes was established in 1924 by winemaker Peter Mertes. The company was established in the small village of Minheim, Germany. The Mertes family had been cultivating wine for over 600 years when Peter Mertes found it was time to start producing wine. The base of his quality wines arose between the famous wineareas of Bernkastel and Piesort at the Mosel. In the early fifties the planting was expanded by his son in law Dr. Gustav Willkomm in the famous Rhine area and later in the Pfalz area. Ten years later the assortment was again expended with wines from Rheingau.
Nowadays the Peter Mertes wines are found all over Germany and the rest of the world. Peter Mertes' vision is still leading in the winemakingproces: produce and guarantee the best quality for a good price. 
The company now has hundreds of employees and its wine is sold in almost 60 countries all over the world.
