Back then the estate produced wine and olive oil. But because of the harsh winter of 1956 almost all the olive trees were destroyed. And so François Xavier Lambert then turned to wine production in the municipality of Gigondas.
It only really took off when Gigondas was recognized as a Côtes du Rhône grand cru in 1971. But the origins of the vineyard go back to 1556.
Jean-François Gras, the great-grandson, (representing the 4th generation of winegrowers), produces great wines that are tipical for this region.
