- This grape variety dates back to the Greek era and the name derives from Hellenic, later transformed with the Spanish colonization into “Aglianico”
- The name Taurasi derives from Taurasia, the small village dating back to the Greek era, conquered by the Romans after defeating the Harpins, in 90 ad. C.
- The area of origin of the grapes suitable for producing the DOCG Taurasi wine, bviously includes the village of Taurasi and 16 other municipalities in he province of Avellino. A land characterized by volcanic soil, where the Aglianico vine has found its natural habitat and offers its best expressions.
